Week 3

June 8th - June 14th: Labeling and Strawberries!

Week 2 < ----------------- > Week 4

On Tuesday I got to show off the work I have been doing to the team. I had started to count the number of bird syllables using my program and manually going through a labeling the Syllables. The team gave me tips and pointers on what to do, as well as finding some bugs that needed to be worked out. On Thursday Xioali, Forrest and I set up a weekly meeting that will be a time for me to ask questions and get feedback from them. This week they pointed me in the direction that they want to take the project. As well as being able to label the spectrogram, they want to be able to display some of the already labeled pieces. This will allow the person labeling the chunks to be consistent with the labels. I spent the rest of the week working on a labeling system and looking up how to create another window and sub windows using glut and openGL.

WEEKEND: This weekend was all about strawberries! On Friday after work, my friend Cory (who I met through my roommates) picked me up and we went strawberry picking. We have some strawberry patches in Minnesota, but it's been over 10 years since I went last. So, we were out in the sun for a couple hours eating and picking and having a pretty great time. We ended up looking up a ton of recipes online and finding a couple that we wanted to make. On Sunday, Cory, Cory's Mom and I whipped up a decent meal of chicken with a strawberry glaze over white rice and a strawberry salsa with baked pita bread. A couple of his friends came over and after we ate we made some amazing desserts. Strawberry mousse, strawberry pie and some mashed strawberries to go over angel food cake. Considering Strawberries are one my favorite foods... I would say it was a pretty good weekend.
