The Project
The overall goal of the project is to develop an end-to-end system for collecting and analyzing bioacoustic recordings, in particular bird songs. Such a system will be used to conduct automatic bird species survey, which involves gathering the presence/absence of information as well as abundance information of different bird species. This project is a joint collaboration between faculties from multiple disciplines including ecology (Matt Betts), computer science (Xiaoli Fern - my mentor), and signal processing (Raviv Raich and Dave Mellenger).
