Week 1 (May 17 - May 23) :

      Work Stuff:  successfully setting up the robot connection on my laptop. I name the robot Shockwave. I have been able to implement some example codes, and it is fascinating to see how the robot carries out the orders. Here is a video clip of Shockwave doing a dance routine.

        Creating Website Task: After making visits to different previous DREU participants’ websites , I have decided on the components for my website. This week, I have been working on designing my homepage.

        Life Stuff: I meet my work partner, Emily. Emily is an undergrad student who takes a proactive approach in her study so that she volunteers working with the robot. It is nice to have someone to discuss about the project. Emily is also my U of M “tour” guide; she has been studied at the U of M for 2 years now so she knows the campus inside and out. In addition to making new friends, I was getting off early on Tuesday and doing a little exploring the U of M campus: it was a pleasant feeling of walking along the Scholars Walk in a beautiful sunny weather and admiring many distinguish professors. I stopped by a Chinese restaurant in the Village Town and enjoyed a little time for myself which I have not gotten much lately because of my busy lifestyle juggling family and study.
