My name is Jessa, and I'm a student at the University
of Colorado, Boulder. I'm going to be a senior this fall, and I am currently pursuing
a B.S. in Computer Science and B.A. in Japanese,
with a minor in Mathematics. I'm planning
on studying abroad in Japan this fall! This is very exciting, but unfortunately
I won't be able to take any computer science or engineering courses while I'm over there.
I'll be finishing up my C.S. degree when I come back, and hopefully go to graduate school
to get a Master's in Computer Science after I've completed my B.S. (providing I'm not sick
of school by then). I'm hoping to graduate in Spring 2009,
since I am slow and it will take me at least five years to graduate. That's okay, because
I have friends who are younger than me. I'll just hang out with them when everyone else I
know has graduated.
This summer I am working for Prof. Michelle Strout
at Colorado State University in
Fort Collins, Colorado. We're doing compiler stuff and parallelization, which is pretty
exciting as I've never dealt this in-depth with compiler optimization before. Granted,
I suppose that's the entire purpose of research in a specific subject.
