How does the Data Buddies project work?
CERP collaborates with computing departments across the United States (i.e., our “Data Buddies”). Our collaboration involves the following:
- First, a department member distributes our surveys to their students.
- Next, we provide a customized department report comparing students’ responses in a given department to students’ responses at other, similar institutions in our sample*.
- Then, CERP utilizes these large datasets to better understand when and why underrepresented students and faculty persist and succeed in computing career tracks. Visit our Evaluation Reports page to view results from some of our evaluations.
*To protect students’ privacy, CERP only creates a department report when 5 or more students within a given department completes one of our surveys.
