CSE Ph.D. Database
In order to help organizers identify qualified women, CRA- W maintains a database of more than 800 Ph.D.-level women in CSE working in North America. The database contains women at all career levels who either have Ph.D.s or are currently enrolled in Ph.D. programs. It has been used extensively by recruiters from academia, industry, and government, by editors-in-chief seeking editorial board candidates, by conference program chairs in selecting program committees and invited speakers, and by CRA in identifying award candidates. The database is thus playing a role in increasing the presence and visibility of women in CSE professional and leadership activities and in assisting organizations who are committed to the participation of women.
Web-based Directory for Job Candidates
The database will soon expande to include a resume directory. This will allow recruiters to browse resumes of prospective researchers, seeing, in the case of new Ph.D.s, for example, a synopsis of their thesis research and a list of publications. The database will also provide a secure location for women to post personal information such as phone numbers and addresses.
If you would like to use the database, or if you are a Ph.D.-level woman in North America who is not in the database but would like to be, contact Susan Owicki owicki@intertrust.com. |
