Senior Leadership Development Seminar

Senior and junior women from research centers, labs, academic departments, and corporations across North America meet for this two-day workshop to address the inequities in representation of women in senior management positions in science and technology.

With their shared long term goal—to increase representation of women in all ranks of scientific and technical management—participants examine existing programs and policies at government and industrial research labs and large computing centers that encourage women to aspire to and participate in management. Discussions focus on professional practices essential to develop leadership skills and ideas for programs that promote leadership and career advancement for women in research-related careers. The seminar also provides a forum to address glass ceiling issues.
