About Me

My name is Monica Dinculescu, and I am a third year Software Engineering student at McGill University. Despite being an Engineering major, I spend most of my time around the Computer Science department, purposely avoiding circuits and resistors. I will be graduating next year, after which I hope to continue my stay at McGill with a masters degree.

My e-mail: monica.dinculescu AT mail.mcgill.ca

This summer, as part of the CDMP program, I will be working with Prof. Doina Precup in the Reasoning and Learning Lab, on some reinforcement learning projects.

Executive summer summary: final presentation slides and final paper. A shorter version of the final paper has been accepted in the NIPS 2006 Workshop on Grounding Perception, Knowledge, and Cognition in Sensori-Motor experience.

Very likely unuseful information about me

Apart form work, this summer I plan on taking on the task of playing the mysterious B chord on a guitar, attempt that has previously resulted in my roomate's appreciation for ear plugs, catching up on my readings, and walking around Montreal, preferably outside the McGill campus.

Barring unforseeable llama or emu invasions, I hope to spend a week in July back home in Ottawa, visiting my family, but mostly attending the very awesome Bluesfest festival.
